Hair Shaft Problem

Written by  Tuesday, 31 July 2007 18:06 | 0 comments

I had really thick and long hair as a child...so much that a band could never hold my hair, and would always break. Right know all the strand in my hair have become very brittle...I can tear a strand with the least bit of pressure. The strand is not smooth, but very bumpy. I need a treatment plan and I am willing to consider anything.

You may have a hair shaft problem. These are best diagnosed by a hair specialist (dermatologist) who can examine the strands under a microscope, or even take a biopsy and send it for examination. There may also be a problem with nutrition or something else affecting the hair shafts. We recommend you have it checked soon.
Hair shaft disorders may lead to brittleness and uncombable hair. In general the hair feels dry and lusterless. Hair shaft abnormalities may occur as a genetic predisposition or certain things you do to your hair such as blow-drying, over-brushing, permanents, or excessive chemical use appear to trigger the condition. Therapy of hair shaft disorders should focus to the cause.

We recommend you to improve environmental factors to reduce damage to the hair. Minimizing traumatic influences to hair shafts, such as dry hair with an electric dryer, permanent waves and dyes is important. A short hair style is more suitable for such patients with hair shaft disorders.
Avoid harsh chemicals such as those used in straightening compounds and permanents. Do not use a very hot hairdryer for long periods of time. The hair should not be ironed. Avoid excessively harsh shampoos, but always use hair conditioners.
We also recommend you a well balanced diet or vitamins that are essential not only to prevent hair loss, but also to promote healthy hair. Hair Cycle products are designed and formulated to nourish hair and allow the hair optimum health. Hair cycle are designed for all types of hair because they are free of harsh chemicals, and use safe natural ingredients that thoroughly cleanse the hair without unnecessary lathering. Natural ingredients combine to prevent premature hair loss and increase hair growth by supplying hair follicles with essential nutrients.
