Hair Loss After Pregnancy

I am having excessive hair loss post partum. Before pregnancy I used to have hair loss but not this much. Need help. I also have lots of Gray hair

Postpartum hair loss is a normal and temporary situation and there is no need to panic. In fact, most women will return to their usual hair growth cycle between 6 and 12 months after birth. During pregnancy, increased levels of estrogen prolong the growing stage. There are fewer hairs in the resting stage and fewer falling out each day, so you have thicker, more luxuriant tresses. After giving birth, the estrogen levels take a tumble and a lot more hair follicles enter the resting stage. It is very common to experience excessive hair loss around three months after delivery. Within six to twelve months after delivery is when most women find that their hair has once again reached a normal state.

The medical term for this condition is telogen effluvium. Hair loss by telogen effluvium happens when trauma of some kind adversely affects the body, and forces hair into the telogen stage. This hair will first start to thin, and then fall. Telogen effluvium often results from an experience that is either physically or emotionally traumatic, such as childbirth.

We recommend a well balanced diet and vitamins and hair care products that are essential not only to prevent hair loss, but also to promote healthy hair. Good nutrition is vital to healthy hair growth, just as it’s essential to overall good health. Hair Cycle care products fight hair loss at its root and promote hair growth with natural ingredients. Unlike other products that use harsh chemicals, preservatives, lathering agents, and degreasers, Hair Cycle products are formulated to protect the hair and scalp and extend the active growing phase. The secret is a unique combination of all-natural ingredients that block androgen receptors, ease inflammation, decrease formation of DHTs and free radical, and encourage growth of hair of nitro oxidants and hair follicle cells. Hair cycle contains vitamins, saw palmetto, biotin and others ingredients to strengthen your hairs and make it shiny and healthy.

Whatever the stage of your life, going gray is an inevitable part of getting older. There are many causes for gray hair such as genes, age and medical conditions…factors completely beyond your control. The most common reason is age. As we age the cells that generate the color for our hair called Melanocytes degenerates and isn’t able to feed the hair follicles as well as it use to. This will result in the pigment in the hair follicle to lose its color properties. The hair will end up losing all its color and become transparent. Your hair will go gray and will increase in appearance over the next few years. Gray hair, in reality, is not a bad thing. It is part of a normal process.
