Hair Stop Growing

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Over the last year my hair has completely stopped growing. I used to
have very long hair and got it trimmed regularly.
I have had to stop trimming it as it is now only barely to my shoulders. I am afraid to cut any more of it because the length won’t grow back. I am female and always had long hair, this is a major worry for me.

It is not unusual to see this sort of problem in someone who has used long-term chemical treatments on their hair. This may cause chemical alopecia (hair loss), or a telogen effluvium, with shedding and growth retardation.
Obviously, the best course of action is to cease using the products, or to find an alternative. A consultation with a dermatologist, or a good hair loss/hair restoration physician is in order, so that a definitive diagnosis may be made. Laboratory studies and/or a scalp biopsy might be needed to reveal the true cause and nature of the condition.
We always recommend using the haircycle products as they help to accelerate anagen. Haircycle products are extraordinarily effective and highly potent blend of DHT inhibitors, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, cell proliferates, anagen stimulators, nitric oxide , precursors and androgen blockers.

Hair Loss Prevention

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

I AM A 31 YEARS OLD FEMALE. I HAVE BEEN TO DERMATOLOGISTS MANY TIMES, USING TREATMENTS HAIR LOSS STOPS BUT AFTER A FEW MONTHS IT COMES AGAIN. I HAVE USED SEVERAL PRODUCTS, SHAMPOOS, LOTIONS, PILLS ETC. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT CAN DO TO PREVENT HAIR LOSS, ABOUT SHAMPOOS ETC, & ANY OTHER USEFUL INFO

Hair loss can be caused by any number of conditions. In fact, losing around 100 hairs a day is a natural part of hair growth cycle, but at some point, some excessive hair loss could happen. There is a strong chance that women with hair loss have a deficiency of some kind that may be helped through nutrition or supplements. In some cases these women can be helped before menopause through other means. Such things as low iron and hormones may be causing their hair loss. You should check with your doctor for anemia, excessive male hormones, thyroid function, rheumatoid diseases, and other medical problems. Hair loss could be caused by medication and stress too. In most cases, it is a temporary situation. Fortunately, medications and hair care products can be used to manage hair loss. We suggest you get the test results from your preferred doctor as a starting point.

Hair Loss Cause

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

Hi, I am 20 years old and am a very healthy, sporty person. About 2 years ago I noticed my hair was thinning out and on the pillow in the morning for example. I could see hairs which were of a noticeable amount. Recently, the problem has become worse, styling my hair, showering, sleeping, and combing my hands through my hair, all result in hairs falling on the floor or being left in my hand. I have been to the doctor about this problem, had blood tests for thyroid problems and all came back negative (sadly I wanted it to be positive so there was something to cure). I am really worried. What can I do? Surely there is medication or something to restart or help with hair growth, as my hair is gradually becoming thinner and thinner, in the shower, when I look in the mirror, it really scares me as the wet hair shows how thin areas are.

Hair loss can be caused by any number of conditions. If you already had a blood test that came back negative, it could be male pattern baldness. Even when it is a permanent situation, exist medications and hair care products that could be use to slow the hair loss process. It could be advised to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist or hair specialist for an evaluation. We recommend Minoxidil 5% for male pattern baldness because it stimulates the anagen phase and gives strength and thickness to your hairs and Hair Cycle care products. You could consider using Rogaine Foam 5% that does not contain alcohol. It does evaporate right away without the grease effects. You can use it twice per day.

Hair Loss After Pregnancy

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

I am having excessive hair loss post partum. Before pregnancy I used to have hair loss but not this much. Need help. I also have lots of Gray hair

Postpartum hair loss is a normal and temporary situation and there is no need to panic. In fact, most women will return to their usual hair growth cycle between 6 and 12 months after birth. During pregnancy, increased levels of estrogen prolong the growing stage. There are fewer hairs in the resting stage and fewer falling out each day, so you have thicker, more luxuriant tresses. After giving birth, the estrogen levels take a tumble and a lot more hair follicles enter the resting stage. It is very common to experience excessive hair loss around three months after delivery. Within six to twelve months after delivery is when most women find that their hair has once again reached a normal state.

The medical term for this condition is telogen effluvium. Hair loss by telogen effluvium happens when trauma of some kind adversely affects the body, and forces hair into the telogen stage. This hair will first start to thin, and then fall. Telogen effluvium often results from an experience that is either physically or emotionally traumatic, such as childbirth.

We recommend a well balanced diet and vitamins and hair care products that are essential not only to prevent hair loss, but also to promote healthy hair. Good nutrition is vital to healthy hair growth, just as it’s essential to overall good health. Hair Cycle care products fight hair loss at its root and promote hair growth with natural ingredients. Whatever the stage of your life, going gray is an inevitable part of getting older. There are many causes for gray hair such as genes, age and medical conditions…factors completely beyond your control. The most common reason is age. As we age the cells that generate the color for our hair called Melanocytes degenerates and isn’t able to feed the hair follicles as well as it use to. This will result in the pigment in the hair follicle to lose its color properties. The hair will end up losing all its color and become transparent. Your hair will go gray and will increase in appearance over the next few years. Gray hair, in reality, is not a bad thing. It is part of a normal process.

My Hair Is Getting Thiner!

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007
I used to have thick hair but over the past ten years it has thinned out. I can no longer wear a pony tail without scalp showing. Even if I just pull my hair back to the base of my neck you can see my scalp. I haven’t taken any medications beyond the birth control that I am currently on. Is there any way to treat this or make my hair grow?

Hair loss can be caused by any number of conditions. There may be a hormonal imbalance, possibly from the birth control pills. A medical workup is necessary to rule out high androgen levels, or telogen effluvium, among other things. This would be the first step.

Your ponytail may also be the problem. A condition known as traction alopecia occurs when tight ponytails cause tension on the hair and the scalp. The first task is to release the tension. You always can adopt a new hair style. The traction alopecia may not be permanent. An effective treatment of traction alopecia is to simply avoid hair styling that puts excessive strain on the hair roots. Even after avoiding the causes of the traction alopecia it may take a period of several months for the hair to recover from this severe hair pulling disorder. If traction alopecia continues for a long time and the same hair is repeatedly pulled out, then the hair follicles in the skin can become so damaged that they stop growing hair permanently. Signs to watch out for include an itchy red scalp, tension headaches, hair breakage around the scalp, and random bald patches.

If you notice any of these symptoms of traction alopecia, stop wearing the offending hairstyle immediately.
We recommend you a well balanced diet or vitamins that are essential not only to prevent hair loss, but also to promote healthy hair. Hair Cycle products are designed and formulated to nourish hair and allow the hair optimum health and stimulate growth. Natural ingredients combine to prevent premature hair loss and increase hair growth by supplying hair follicles with essential nutrients. There exist a number of substances that are known to stimulate the growth phase of the hair cycle. These growth inducers may be systemic or topical; one of the best things about topical application is that one avoids potential side effects. The Hair Cycle product line contains several growth inducers in topical form. This, along with androgen inhibitors, anti-inflammatories, nitric oxide stimulators, and antioxidants, may help as part of an overall therapeutic plan to deal with the problem of hair loss.

Thanks again for your interest and we look forward to hearing back from you. Please feel free to contact us with any further question.

A sudden bald spot

Monday, August 13th, 2007
Hi, I am 25 years old. Well one day I woke up and I had a silver dollar sized bald spot on the side of my head. I am scared that I might lose more of my hair. Might someone know what’s going on or what I can do to try save the rest of my hair?

Very possibly this is Alopecia Areata; it very often starts this way. There is not necessarily continued loss, but there can be. See a dermatologist. Quite often these conditions respond to simple injection of medication into the hairless spot.

While there is neither a cure for alopecia Areata nor drugs approved for its treatment, some people find that medications approved for other purposes can help hair grow back, at least temporarily. Keep in mind that while these treatments may promote hair growth, none of them prevent new patches or actually cure the underlying disease.

Alopecia Areata is considered an autoimmune disease, in which the immune system, which is designed to protect the body from foreign invaders such as viruses and bacteria, mistakenly attacks the hair follicles, the tiny cup-shaped structures from which hairs grow. This can lead to hair loss on the scalp and elsewhere. In most cases, hair falls out in small, round patches about the size of a quarter. In many cases, the disease does not extend beyond a few bare patches.

Alopecia Areata often occurs in people whose family members have other autoimmune diseases, such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, pernicious anemia, or Addison’s disease. People who have alopecia Areata do not usually have other autoimmune diseases, but they do have a higher occurrence of thyroid disease, atopic eczema, nasal allergies, and asthma.
The course of alopecia areata is highly unpredictable, and the uncertainty of what will happen next is probably the most difficult and frustrating aspect of the disease. You may continue to lose hair, or your hair loss may stop. The hair you have lost may or may not grow back, and you may or may not continue to develop new bare patches. The course of the disease varies from person to person. The effects of alopecia areata are primarily socially and emotionally disturbing.
Alopecia Areata is not a life-threatening disease. It does not cause any physical pain, and people with the condition are generally healthy otherwise. But for most people, a disease that unpredictably affects their appearance the way alopecia Areata does is a serious matter.
